009 Adiponectin-derived pentapeptide ameliorates psoriasiform skin inflammation by suppressing IL-17 production in γδT cells

Adiponectin, a hormone secreted from adipocytes, is closely associated with psoriasis and suppresses psoriasiform inflammation. Recently, small-sized transdermally deliverable 5-mer peptide (GLYYF; P5) was discovered as potential adiponectin receptor 1 agonist. This study aims at confirming the reduction of protein level in human skin investigating whether functional replenishment by topical P5 application improves We examined expression individuals normal skin. Next, we adopted imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like dermatitis mouse model wild-type (WT) adiponectin-deficient (Adipoq−/−) mice. As result, downregulated both epidermis dermis psoriatic lesions compared to that Topically applied attenuated severity WT Adipoq−/− mice decreasing psoriasis-related cytokines (Il17a, Il1b, Il6, Tnfα). significantly reduced proportion interleukin-17A–producing γδT cells flow cytometric analysis.
